Okuma Series GI20N-II

The internal grinding machines of the GI20N-II series are one of the most successful creations in the sector, the result of the consolidated OKUMA experience, a combination of the latest generation technology with the traditional technology gained during many years of experience in the sector.

Built in four versions, “SBK KIT” with a belt-driven spindle, “SHK KIT” with an electro-spindle, “2WS” with two in-line electro-spindles and “4WS” with four electro-spindles mounted on a turret with automatic indexing can solve almost all internal production grinding needs.
The very compact single-body structure of the base gives it high rigidity; careful design has allowed perfect balance of the machine to be achieved.

The workpiece head (max speed 750 rpm), directly controlled by an AC servo-motor; Lifetime lubrication gives high reliability and allows maintenance to be reduced to a minimum.

X and Z axes on hydrostatic guide with 5 contact points, traditional Okuma system which allows to obtain absolute precision in the positioning of the axes and great rigidity of the same even in the processing of the most difficult materials such as alloy steel, carbide and ceramic.

The advancement of the axes is directly controlled by AC servo-motors and original OKUMA drives with high precision ball screws; a resolution of 0.0001 mm allows for very high sensitivity in programming the processes.

The “Termo Friendly Concept” system provides high thermal and dimensional stability even during long-term grinding operations or in environments with significant temperature changes throughout the day.

The innovative conversational programming software, implemented on the OSP 300GA CNC, not only allows accurate machining to be carried out without the intervention of expert operators but also allows programming time to be significantly reduced; the machine is thus highly efficient even in the production of small batches.
