HARTFORD’s series of horizontal machining centers meet a variety of machining requirements due to their technological solutions.

In particular, the structural solidity of the bed and spindle line make the HMC series extremely effective in both general mechanical applications characterized by high stock removal and in medium and high production applications with finishing and superfinishing on various types of steel from the most tenacious.

The base frame, made of stabilized Meehanite cast iron, is compact and has a “T” shape. The transverse slides for the table and the longitudinal slides for the column are provided on said base; the pallet changing device and the workpiece loading and unloading station are also integrated into the machine base.

The rotary table performs only transverse movement Z, the mast only longitudinal movement X, and the work unit only vertical movement Y.

All moving parts of the machine rest for their entire travel completely on the guideways. That is, this concept, fully supporting all moving units along the working range of the machine, ensures even weight distribution, absolute immobility of the workpiece, smooth movements resulting in longer machine life and superior cutting capabilities.

The structural rigidity of the base allows high vibration absorption capacity and absolute precision in machining.

All linear slideways are equipped with preloaded recirculating needle roller bearings, which allow due to minimal friction high positioning accuracy and straightness.
